How to Use the Light Requirement Matcher
Choose a plant, then pick which way the window faces and how far the plant sits from the glass, in centimetres. Press Check Light and the tool estimates the light level of that spot, compares it with what the plant needs and tells you whether it matches, is too dark or is too bright. How the light level is estimated
Window direction sets the base level: south is brightest, north is lowest, east and west sit in between.
Distance from the glass lowers the level — light falls off quickly as you move into the room.
The result is a general band (low, medium, bright indirect or full sun), not a precise measurement.
Curtains, tinted glass, overhangs and the season all change real light, so treat the result as a guide.
